So I just got through with this debate tourney that ran from Friday to Saturday, and I must say it was pretty intense! Lots of new faces, always good to see at a tournament (even at the small school it was at), with some pretty awesome arguments being contested between six different schools. My team was pretty disfunctional considering one of my team mates is terrible with English (he's only been speaking it for like four years now, which is funny since most people think he speaks good English because he's blonde and blue eyed) and I have never debated with them before, but in the end, we managed a solid performance with 3 wins and 3 losses -- ending at semis in third place, our novice team winning first place, and yours truly ending in second at the best speaker awards.

In the end, it was really such a gratifying experience, even though it wasn't a large tournament, as we learned so much from these events, met up with old friends and made new ones, and managed to get through two days of incredible mental exercise. Debate is really such an amazing activity, and I'd encourage you all to take it for the love of knowledge, if not for other benefits like making new friends (or the fact that debate is viewed very favourably by prospective colleges!)

...and I'm stuck at home with terrible allergies, a tonsil infection, and four final exams to go

And I basically enjoy only two days before the Apocalypse (huzzah), so y'all better be huddled down in your bunkers watching The Walking Dead or something, because it's pretty obvious that the 22nd will see a massive inundation of "I TOLD YE SO HURR DURR" posts on everything from 9gag and Tumblr to CNN and the BBC...better hunker down before the internet wars start~

Additionally; I would like to know if anyone can find a way to organise Paypal information in a certain way...my family is adamant that we not post personal information on the internet despite Paypal's so called security measures. Are they as safe as they say they are? Has anyone experienced trouble with them/had others have access to their information/had their info stolen? I need to convince my family of its effectiveness in order to buy my fraternal twin a ponyta plush toy here on DA.
